Privacy policy.
How we collect, use and protect your information when you visit baninibutter.com or reserve a jar.
Welcome to Banini Butter. We are committed to protecting your privacy and to handling your personal information safely and responsibly. This policy sets out how we collect, use, share and safeguard your information when you visit baninibutter.com or reserve our products.
1. Information we collect
We collect personal information that you give us voluntarily. Depending on what you do on the site, that may include:
- Contact information. Your name, email address and phone number. If you join the waitlist, we take your email address and nothing else.
- Delivery details. Your town or city, and any note you choose to add to a reservation. Both are optional.
- Product preferences. The blends, skin types and sizes you choose, including whether you are shopping for dry, oily or combination skin, so that we can prepare the right jars for you.
We do not collect payment information. Reservations are free, nothing is charged, and the site has no checkout. We never ask for card numbers or mobile money details, and none are stored anywhere.
We do not use cookies. This site sets no cookies, saves nothing in your browser, and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind. Everything the page needs, including its typefaces, is served from this domain, so simply reading the site sends nothing about you to anybody else. Our hosting provider keeps ordinary server records of requests, as all web hosts do, and we do not use these to identify or follow anyone.
2. How we use your information
- To prepare and manage your reservation.
- To write to you when the first run is ready, and to confirm what your reservation comes to.
- To arrange getting your jars to you.
- To answer you when you get in touch.
- To let you know when we launch, if you have joined the waitlist. You can leave that list at any time.
3. How we share your information
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone. We share it only in these situations:
- Service providers. Companies that carry out work on our behalf, such as hosting this website, storing our records and delivering our emails. They handle your information only to do that work, and not for purposes of their own.
- Legal obligations. Where we are required to disclose information to comply with the law, a request from government, or court proceedings.
4. Data security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the personal information we hold. That said, no transmission over the internet and no method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.
5. Your privacy rights
Under the Ghana Data Protection Act, and depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong;
- ask us to delete your personal information;
- opt out of marketing at any time.
To exercise any of these, write to us using the details below. Every email we send also carries an unsubscribe link.
6. Updates to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in what we do, or for operational, legal or regulatory reasons. When we do, the last modified date at the foot of this page changes with it. We will update this policy before we begin taking payment or shipping orders, since both will involve information we do not collect today.
7. Contact us
If you have any question about this policy or about how we handle your information, write to hello@baninibutter.com.
